What People Are Saying:

I joined the Golden Era course as I love this glamorous period in time & wanted to learn more about it & because Joana's a wonderful teacher, I knew I would get authentic & accurate information. In the first live masterclass, Joana taught the history of the Golden Era to life in a colourful & vibrant way. She broke down the events, politics, women, dancers, music & composers who shaped Egyptian Dance as we know it today. I really liked the way she organised the modules & bonus materials,so that they all followed on in a progressive way, introducing new lessons & challenges. Joana´s s passion for this beautiful dance & culture is absolutely radiant as she shares all her knowledge & wisdom so generously & is always checking in with you to see if you have any problems or questions she can help you with. I found it very helpful that there was access to all recorded classes & complete breakdown on choreography. There was so much to be taken from this course on many different levels & I have definitely connected more to my femininity, emotions & expression since taking the course. I also have a much better understanding of the music & how to listen for the subtle details & melody & the beautiful choreography we learned gave me some wonderful new moves to explore. I would definitely recommend the course to anyone interested in Oriental dance as it has really shown me how it has carved the pathway to the dance I study today & highlighted how important it is to dance with your heart & soul, embracing our uniqueness & femininity. Joana is an amazing person, dancer & teacher & willingly gives so much of herself to all her students as she guides them to their next level. This is so much more than just a dance course with choreography, it teaches you about yourself, life, & encourages you to rediscover your femininity.

I loved this course so much. I have been a huge fan of Golden Era Raqs Sharqi and I have taken some workshops of Golden Era of other teachers. In my opinion, this course is one of the best because you learn deep knowledge such as history and the core essences of Egyptian dance, not only a beautiful choreography. Since I studied this course, my dance has become more feminine. My ability to listen to music improved a lot and I started dancing more soulfully. I recommend this course to everyone, especially people like me who are enthusiastic about Golden Era Raqs Sharqi but have focused only on dance techniques, combos, and choreographies. I used to mimic Golden Era dancers. There was no originality in my dance. This course will be very helpful for you to find your own dance style with lots of Golden Era essences.

The success of Joana Saahirah's Online Dance School in my book is down to one thing: Joana Saahirah. She is undoubtedly one of the most originally-minded, passionate, knowledgeable, and masterful teachers I've met in the Egyptian Dance field and beyond - and I've studied with many. A course in Joana's online school is not just a technique class - it's a captivating, immersive experience that speaks to your heart, mind and soul. Not only do you get access to a choreography and a breakdown of Egyptian Dance technique, when you study with Joana, you're in for an adventure that will enrich your dance practice and your development as a human being. Her methodology will offer you an opportunity to grow your life skill set. Joana has effectively interlaced dance instruction with her view on the values and qualities inherent in Egyptian Dance and how to develop them in your personal life. She calls this training self-empowerment which is a the root of Egyptian Dance. It really doesn't matter how much personal growth work you may have already done. I have a dance therapy background as a practitioner, and I've found her approach to dance/life skill instruction to be challenging, growthful and brilliantly unique. I would gladly recommended the school to other students who would appreciate this rich a learning experience. Joana asks a lot of her students because she is dedicated to helping them produce the results they are seeking. For all she expects, you will benefit abundantly.

This year, I subscribed to 4 courses at Joana Saahirah´s Online Dance School and, honestly, her courses are amazing, I recommend them 100% because she teaches you the dance technique and choreography but the Egyptian Culture behind the dance, the mentality behind each movement. Furthermore, she develops you on a personal level - emotionally and psychologically -, something that can help you evolve in your dance and in your life. If you´re wondering if you should join her school, I´d say “don´t think twice, join it now!

I definitely recommend your school to other dancers! The lessons are very well structured, the content is about the dance, about culture about the art and what it takes to be an artist- a human being, who is passionate about the craft. What I really like to mention is that you have a lot of passion for the dance and for the art- and that is what I can feel- and what people feel. What I love about your classes is the special connection of all the positive benefits dance has-and how important it is to feel good, to feel confident- that is what dance shows you and what you show in dance - it is vice versa. Your style of teaching is motivating- get out of the comfort zone-move your **s-and practice. I like that you show us a way how to understand what it takes to be a confident human and a confident dancer. There are so many bonuses and resources as well. The classes are a great opportunity to develop- as a dancer and as a person. And you are there for us and give us support and feedback. Since I joined your classes, I feel much more confident and also curious.

I would recommend Joana Saahirah´s Online Dance School to other students, for sure. But only those who are really interested in the authentic Egyptian dance and the culture behind it. I have learned beautiful choreographies, received many beautiful learning materials, tips for self-practice, and some Arabic. I have also learned practical ways to be self-confident through your course, which is indeed life-changing. The reason I cannot leave her school is that she doesn't force her students to be her followers (totally the opposite!) She values each student's individuality and guides us to be "ourselves," in dance and in life. Taking your courses in 2020 was truly a great help for me, both physically and mentally. Literally, you saved my life...Thank you.
